Abstract

This article presents the results of the research based on the approach to two innovative projects in the promotion of reading in the Colombian Caribbean; La Carreta Literaria, in the department of Bolívar, and Biblioburro, in the department of Magdalena. The objectives of the research are aimed at assessing the effects of international cooperation on projects based on the qualitative evaluation of the criteria of visibility, coverage, sustainability and replicability, as well as a critical analysis of the experiences to establish their relationship with three development dimensions; social inclusion and cohesion, citizen participation and cultural sustainability.

As a research technique, we succeed in semi-structured interviews with different population groups following the qualitative method of comprehensive sociology. In general, the results of the research are aimed at establishing the links between reading and writing practices, human development and international cooperation.
